Individual kitchens are made custom -made in Rauma
The kitchen is an undeniable heart of a Finnish home, but in recent years it has merged more and more seamless with other home spaces, their look and interior design. Open kitchens have been mainstream for a long time, but now the boundary between the kitchen and the living room is increasingly fading, and the living room -like atmosphere is brought to the kitchen by hiding small machines and moving the cabinet focus down to the floor. Not only does the kitchen cook and entertain guests, many also serve as a telework.
The open kitchen also has its critics, who, in their walls, have even disappeared from a modern home. The kitchen door must be closed to insulate the rest of the home, if necessary. When the kitchen is made on a custom -made, the starting point is the needs of home residents and the development of functional solutions. "My best ideas and inspiration come from customers. The real trend comes from a successful problem solving. If the design does not meet the real need, it's just a gimmick," the carpenter and kitchen designer Manu Kuusisto emphasizes.
The design work is based on the customer's listening
As a carpenter, Manu understands how it is possible to implement ideas beautifully and practically, but you have to invest in planning. "I spend much more time planning than my clients know. It's the core of my work and the reason why this job is interested. The most important thing is functionality, because it means that the kitchen takes time." Time with the customer and the share of design in the whole process has increased significantly over the years. Interior designers with whom Mavi-Kaluste cooperate with. "We do not offer the collection, but we listen to the customer. We have deliberately strived from standards to have creative freedom and use all the space available. We are very flexible, 'won't wait'," Manu says.
Natural oil -based paint flex and live together with a tree
Mavi furniture in Lapland in Rauma has been manufacturing kitchens for more than 30 years. Over the past eight years, Mavi has increasingly built trunk and doors from plywood. They chose Uula's water -borne furniture . “As a carpenter, I have known Uula's traditional paints for decades. Component paints usually used in kitchen cabinets do not work on a genuine wooden surface because it lives, and the paint is gradually created by small hair. Uula's natural oil -based paints work well with plywood. It is also pleasant and safe to use in the workshop. "In the traditional kitchens, the brush will actually appear, but most of the time we use a syringe for painting."
Retro kitchen with bold colors
Plywood retro -style kitchens are a unique product that is not easily found in other manufacturers. Indeed, they have brought Mavi's new younger clientele. Retro kitchens dare to play with colors, but according to Manu's experience, the daring color choices have found their way to Finnish cuisine anyway: "In the early 2000s, everything was white and black, but now bright and powerful colors are boldly used. People also want the kitchen to express their individuality."
You could say that Mavi-Kaluste as a company also looks like its creators and expresses their individuality. "We are not a growth -oriented company because it is more important to us that work stays in our own fingers. It is difficult to make individual kitchens if business grows above," Manu ponders. Manu's uncompromisingness is appealing. Mavi furniture has recognized his strength and has boldly decided to stick to his own values. "This is a way of life," Manu shrugs modestly, laughing at her shoulders.
