wooden house and is a favorite of many of many. In most cases, petroleum oil paint only requires only one painting and is suited to all kinds of exterior wood surfaces: painted with different plastic, oil or alkyd paints.

In this article, we look at the painting project of Kati's yard building in Kuopio, which was cleaned and protected thoroughly before painting 20 years ago, thus achieved a time -lasting outcome that will be a joy to Kati and her family for years to come.

As with all painting projects, the groundwork plays at least as important as the painting itself, and once you read this article, you will be able to choose the right products and working methods that guarantee the best result.

The groundwork for maintenance painting

The groundwork for maintenance painting proceeds through 3 steps:

1. Mechanically removing the old, loose paint surface using a steel brush or painting

Over the years, Kati's yard has been painted with both alkyd paint and painted paint. Thorough cleaning of the wall surface, especially from the cooking paint, was important because of the chalk feature, which, in the worst case, prevents the new paint from sticking to the surface of the wood.

Kati used a steel brush that helped you access the causes of the wood and the slots of the board.

2. Washing the wall surface with Uula mold washing

The next step in the work, the board upholstery of the courtyard building was washed throughout the Uula mold was washed, which is an alkaline detergent that destroys microbial growth.

3. Disinfection and priming of the wall surface with Uula Home Protection

As a final step in the groundwork, the wall surface was treated with Uula's mold protection, which serves as a preventive primer, slowing down possible mold and algae growth in the future.

As part of climate change, different but aesthetically hindered mold, algae and fungal growths have also increased in Finland on the wall surfaces of buildings. Mold cleaning and mold protection will help together to ensure that there will be no crop to germinate under the new paint and thus harm the annoyance in the coming years.

Maintenance painting with petroleum oil paint

As a rule, petroleum oil paint is a single paint covering. Priming is necessary in situations where the paint has come off the wood surface. In this case, the locations where the wood surface is visible is painted. The primer is 20% thinned petroleum oil Uula Oil Oil thinner

The topcoat is done with unpaid petroleum oil paint, with plenty of paint on the brush. If the building to be painted is exposed to particularly hard climate loads, it can be painted twice, and 20-40% of the first paint layer will be thinned with Uula Oil.

Kati's yard building was once painted with an unspoiled petroleum oil paint in Uula's traditional shade of 8318 olive .

Although the groundwork was a time -consuming phase, painting itself was quick and pleasant , says Kati.

Take care of the tools to clean the correctly

Petrol oil paint contains linseed oil, which must be carefully cleaned of tools due to the risk of self -emerging. For cleaning, use Uula General Care or Lacquer Bensine and finally soap and water.

If you have used trashes, rags, or even kitchen paper to wipe the paint during painting, lose them by burning or watering through the water before throwing trash.

Home does not enjoy a clean surface

It is worth taking care of the purity of painted exterior surfaces. Home grows on a wooden surface but does not destroy wood, so the disadvantage is mainly aesthetic. Home can be removed from the surface by washing Uula with mold washing. Cleaning and protection should be done regularly.
