Instructions of use for Uula Glazing Oil

Always choose colours in the space and lighting the paint is intended for. Lighting and gloss level of the paint affect the perception of colour. With translucent treatments the roughness of the material, the variety of wood, the previous colour and quality of the treatment affects the end result. Reserve and mix enough stain for large surfaces to avoid potential colour variation in different batches. Paint a test patch on a separate piece of similar material to ensure the colour is correct. Please note that the stain attains its true colour once it has dried properly.

Stir the stain well before and during painting. Look after the painting environment by protecting untreated surfaces with masking tape, paper, cardboard or protective plastic. The stain can be used clear for freshening up varnished surfaces of old furniture by rubbing the stain on with a lint-free cloth and allowing it to dry for 4-5 hours.

We recommend painting with a brush, finishing brush or ceiling paint brush, depending on the material and structure. The surface to be painted must be dry, the relative air humidity less than 80% and the temperature a minimum of +10°C. The paint is touch dry

Preparation: Clean the surface of dust and dirt. Wash dirty surfaces with Uula Washing Agent and mouldy surfaces in covered exterior spaces with Uula Mould Wash as per instructions and let the surface dry thoroughly prior to treatment.

Treatment with clear stain: Apply 1-3 coats of clear stain on untreated surfaces and 2-3 coats on previously stained surfaces. Sand between coats and remove all sanding dust before applying the next coat.

Treatment with tinted stain: Apply 1-2 coats of tinted wood stain to reach the desired opacity.

Coverage: Smooth planed surfaces 12-15m²/litre. Rough sawn surfaces 8-10m²/litre, depending on the roughness and porocity of the surface.

Thinner: Uula Universal Thinner

Cleaning of equipment: Clean all tools with Uula Universal Thinner and finish off with water and soap.

Storage and prevention of environmental impact: Storage in cool and dry. Empty, clean packaging can be recycled. All liquid waste must be taken to a hazardous waste collection point.

Treat all treated surfaces with care for the first month. Clean with soft cloths and sponges that do not scratch the surface. Use neutral washing agents only. Rinse the surfaces carefully.
